Soul Jazz Funk - that let´s the sparkle fly! The 11-piece NILS GESSINGER BAND (5 horns/5 rhythm/1 vocals) had a hit with "Angel" in indonesian radio charts. Dee Dee Bridgewater, Inga Rumpf, the Platters, Patti LaBelle or the Three Degrees appreciate his virtuosity and his musical sensitivity, the NDR BigBand hired him for numerous studio- and live productions. He is conductor and leader of JAZZESSENCE, the State Youth Jazz Orchestra of Hamburg, recorded 6 CDs (w./ Bob Mintzer & Herb Geller).
1995 Nils produced the highly acclaimed first CD "Ducks´n´Cookies" with guests Herb Geller (s), Peter Weniger (s), Inga Rumpf (voc). Legendary producer Tommi LiPuma (Miles Davis) signed him for GRP / Universal Records as first European artist. Nils opened for George Benson and shared the stage with Spyro Gyra.
1996 2nd CD "Scratch Blue" for GRP with guitar legend Robben Ford, Nils Landgren (tb) & Wolfgang Haffner (dr) and played North Sea Jazz Festival at The Hague. 1997 major TV station ARD taped a 60 minute live performance "Ohne Filter Extra" with Robben Ford as special guest. Releases: 2003 „Jam it up!“ feat. Dave Weckl (dr), Peter Weniger (s), Joe Gallardo (tb).
2006 „Burning“ feat. Vinnie Colaiuta (dr), Peter Weniger (s).
2011 „Pass-ion“ feat. Will Lee (b), John Tropea (g).
